Global Student Teaching
Morris Global Student Teaching
Since 1990, Global Student Teaching (GST) at the University of Minnesota, Morris has offered teacher education students outstanding placements with schools in a wide variety of countries.
Morris's Global Student Teaching provides teacher candidates the opportunity to learn first-hand how culture affects teaching and learning. Your experiences in the field will provide valuable insight into how curriculum and instructional practices are influenced by history, culture, religion, and social norms. Through immersion in a different culture, teacher candidates simultaneously learn about the host culture as well as more about their own.
You will also discover that educational dilemmas are not limited to any one continent, nation, or local context. Teacher candidates gain leadership and collaboration skills and grow as education professionals through GST. Successful completion of the program leads to recommendation for teacher licensure through students' home institutions.
